Dallas, Texas Therapist Specializing in Individual and Couples Therapy, Perinatal Health, Women's Health, Multicultural Counseling

I’m Nofar Gal, a therapist in Dallas, TX specializing in helping adults navigate individual and relationship issues, perinatal mental health and life transitions.  Whether you are struggling with personal growth, relationship dynamics, adjusting to parenthood, or changes that arise as we make our journey through the lifespan, I offer a safe and supportive place for exploration, curiosity and meaningful change.

I offer services in both English and Hebrew.

My services:

  • Individual Therapy:   Clients come because of difficulty with anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, relationship concerns, or perhaps recovery from a divorce. I help clients increase their self-esteem and develop resilience to better manage life’s challenges.
  • Multicultural Counseling: I provide counseling that acknowledges how a client’s cultural identity can impact their mental health. It’s a strengths-based approach that considers factors such as race, ethnicity, religion, immigration status, power and privilege, and socioeconomic background. Many of my clients come to me after a relocation from another country.  I provide support as they adjust to a new culture, a new language, a different career and a new living environment.
  • Counseling women across the lifespan: I work with women to better understand the unique challenges and opportunities they face at the different stages of life. I take a comprehensive approach that considers biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors.  By acknowledging the interplay and intersectionality of our multiple identities (race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status) we explore the impact they have on our life experiences.  I work with women to develop their strengths, build resilience, advocate for themselves and gain a better understanding of their identity.
  • Couples Therapy: I work with couples on a variety of concerns such as communication, conflict resolution, re-igniting connection and intimacy, establishing individual accountability, support during the perinatal period, adjustment to parenthood, adjustment to major life transitions, interfaith marriages, multicultural marriages.
  • Pregnancy and Postpartum:  I work with women, couples and their families to provide support during the pre-conception, pregnancy and postpartum stages.  This can be an especially challenging time as women face physiological and psychological changes.  Some clients also are navigating social and environmental factors such as: lack of emotional support, financial stress, and relationship difficulties that can affect psychological well being.

Whether you’re seeking to:

  • Develop tools to lower anxiety
  • Work through relationship problems
  • Develop better communication skills
  • Recover and heal from a recent breakup or divorce
  • Receive pre-conception, pregnancy and postpartum support
  • Adapt to a relocation
  • Process grief and loss
  • Explore your identity in a new culture

My approach:

In working with my clients, my goal is to help facilitate curiosity, while taking a holistic approach in identifying beliefs, patterns and behaviors that may be blocking them from achieving their goals. We work together to replace feelings of shame with resilience as we uncover self-limiting beliefs.  Collaboratively, we envision alternatives for change and acquire new strategies in a positive and empowering way.

In working with couples, I use an integrative approach to answer the different needs of each relationship, helping the couple set goals, establish accountability, create change, re-ignite and enhance their connection.

I am passionate about working with my clients across their various phases of life, walking alongside my clients as they transition through different roles in life and find purpose in their self-definition.

Most people seek counseling when they experience pain, feeling stuck in their lives and relationships. The patterns that have worked for them in the past are no longer working or a new life event confronts them with the need for change. As a counselor, I feel honored to be invited into my clients’ lives. Life is sometimes messy and complex as we navigate through the challenges of being a parent, having a career, being a caretaker and keeping our marriages thriving.  I believe that through curiosity we can face challenges, connect to our strengths and discover our self-resilience.
