Think of a woman who has greatly influenced your life in a positive way: perhaps it was your mother, an aunt, or your grandmother; maybe it was a teacher or a neighbor. March is the perfect time to express gratitude for that person, as it is Women’s History Month as well as International Women’s Day on March 8.
Women’s contributions in culture, academics, politics, and society have been tremendous. Women have the unique ability to both carry babies and fight wars; they can raise children and/or own their own businesses. As Michelle Obama once said, “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” Today, we recognize that women possess a unique set of skills and strengths. So, make time this month to celebrate women.
Speaking of international women, Insights is proud to highlight two of our women therapists:
Angela Mitakidis was born and raised in South Africa. She obtained degrees in psychology and law and practiced as an attorney. She has spent over 20 years life coaching and in leadership roles for various non-profit and faith-based organizations. In addition, she and her husband founded a community health organization focusing on treating and counseling HIV patients in impoverished communities. They spent six years in Singapore where she became a mediator and managed the Singapore Mediation Center. Angela specializes in Individual, Couple, and Family Counseling, Relationship Building, Dispute Resolution, and Play Therapy for children under 8 years old.
Nofar Gal is originally from Israel, has lived on three continents, served in the Israeli military, and has been exposed to a wide variety of individuals and cultures. She has been married for 12 years and is a mother to two teen-aged girls. She finds true passion and curiosity in the therapy process and finds it a great privilege when invited to be a part of a person’s journey. She offers counseling services in both English and Hebrew. Nofar specializes in Women’s Issues, Women’s Health, Perinatal Health, Adolescents, Couples, and Life Transitions.
