Addiction Counselors

Coming to terms with addiction can be one of life’s most difficult struggles, but it can also be the beginning of a significantly better life. Whether you are struggling with abuse of or dependency on alcohol, drugs or sex, our addiction counselors understand that addiction comes in many different forms – and it rarely shows up by itself. Addiction is often accompanied by lifelong feelings of worthlessness — perhaps ignited by a stressful childhood or as the result of an emotionally or physically traumatic life experience. Insight Therapy’s addiction counselors offer a place of calm that is both inviting and non-judgmental. We help you uncover why you do what you do, then teach you the skills needed to develop healthier, more productive coping methods.

How Do I Know When I Need Help?

Recovery comes in many stages — from simply thinking about quitting an addiction to, unfortunately, hitting rock bottom and knowing that if the addiction is not immediately addressed, a person and his or her family will suffer great loss. There are several simple assessments to determine alcohol, drug and/or sex addiction, but a good rule of thumb is that when a person thinks they might have a problem, it’s time to seek professional help. We know that overcoming addiction is not an easy task, but we encourage you to come in and talk with one of our addiction counselors. If you are truly addicted, your addiction and your worries will likely not go away on their own, and may even worsen over time unless you get the help you really deserve.
