Counseling
While there are many resources available today to assist in dealing with emotional and behavioral problems, among them Internet research, self-help books, podcasts and television shows, individualized counseling offers something these other resources do not, which is face to face communication with a trained professional who knows you. Talking openly about your thoughts and feelings with a counselor offers a deeper level of self-awareness, one that requires honesty from the client and support from the counselor. Choosing the right therapist for counseling is as important as the counseling itself. Insights Therapy would like to help.
Am I Ready For Counseling?
Counseling is helpful for most people who find themselves “stuck” in an emotional rut and unable to resolve “sticky” problems. The most effective counseling occurs when the client feels the most comfortable and least judged, in an environment that is both supportive and truthful. The therapist should guide the client, offering skillful feedback and suggestions that promote the client’s best interests, but at all times the client should be in charge of the counseling session.
